On wednesday at 4pm I had a quick look around the smallish garden at work and noticed at least 7 or 8 Pyrausta aurata, all flying around the herbs in the huge planters.
With patience and soft footing I managed my best shots to date of these beautiful creatures.
Mint Moth Pyrausta aurata
You`re not kidding, Ben. They`re one species that rarely allow close approach.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know they were called Mint Moths, you learn something every day.
ReplyDeleteIn my garden they sit on my Choycia Bush and sometimes on the Rosemary..
Hehe herb moths would be more appropriate! they were sitting on lemon-grass as well.
ReplyDeleteYep stealthy approach needed.
